WordPress developers for UK organisations

When you need a WordPress developer in the UK, you can hire one person or a team that covers design, code, hosting and support. We are that team, working remotely from Nigeria on your clock.

Overview

WordPress Developers for organisations in the United Kingdom.

A good freelance WordPress developer can be excellent value, until they are on holiday, fully booked or moving on. Hiring a specialist team means more than one senior person knows your site, work continues when someone is away, and design, development and hosting are covered without coordinating several suppliers.

Everything we do is WordPress. Our developers write custom block themes and plugins, build WooCommerce stores, connect WordPress to other systems and maintain sites for the long term. Our own plugins include emailfooter, a free email signature tool, and the Bizy suite of operations plugins.

In detail

WordPress Developers in the United Kingdom, in detail.

01

A team rather than a single developer

With us you get a developer who works on your site day to day, backed by colleagues in design, hosting and quality checks. Code is reviewed before it goes live, kept in version control, and documented as we go. If your usual developer is unavailable, another team member can pick up the work without starting from scratch, because the decisions and access details are already written down.

02

Remote, but on UK time

Hiring a WordPress expert outside the UK often means slow replies across time zones. Lagos is on UTC+1, which equals British Summer Time and is one hour ahead of GMT. Stand-ups, sprint reviews and urgent fixes happen in your working day, and your developer is reachable on the same messaging and project tools your team already uses. Handover notes are written at the end of every working day.

03

What our developers build

Typical UK requests include a custom theme to replace a heavy page builder, a plugin to handle a specific workflow, a WooCommerce store with Stripe and Bacs Direct Debit, a member area, or an integration with a CRM or finance system. We also take on fixes and improvements to existing sites, starting with a code review so we understand what we are changing.

04

Quality UK clients can check

We build to WCAG 2.2 AA accessibility, keep plugins to what the site needs, and make sure forms, consent and data storage support UK GDPR and PECR. You get a staging site for every change, written release notes, and access to the code. Our UK work includes the corporate website for HRD2, and we can walk you through it on a call.

How hiring us works

For projects, development starts from $5,000 per project and strategy and design from $1,500. For ongoing developer time alongside hosting and maintenance, managed services start from $2,000 per year, with growth retainers for continuing development. Prices are in US dollars; a GBP quote can be discussed, and everything is agreed in writing. Whichever route you choose, you know who is working on your site, what they are working on this week, and what has been delivered against the scope.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Should we hire a freelancer or an agency?

A freelancer can suit a small, well-defined task. If your site matters to revenue or operations, a team gives you continuity, review and wider skills. We are happy to say if your job is small enough that a freelancer would serve you better.

Can we hire a developer for a few days a month?

Yes, through a growth retainer as part of managed services. You get an agreed amount of developer time each month for improvements and new features, alongside hosting and maintenance. The details are set in the written scope. Unused time and how requests are prioritised are agreed up front, so there are no surprises.

Are your developers employed by you?

Our team works together from Nigeria as part of WPFlat, which belongs to Digitalzooks. You deal with named people who know your site, and we tell you who is working on what. We do not subcontract your work to unknown third parties without telling you first.

Can you work in our tools?

Yes. We can work in your project management tool, chat workspace and code repository, or provide our own if you do not have them. Access is kept to the people who need it and removed when the work ends. We also follow your security policies for password managers and two-factor authentication.

How do we get started?

Book an intro call and describe the work. If it involves an existing site, we review it first. You then receive a written scope with deliverables, timeline and price, and work starts when you approve it. The intro call is a conversation about your needs, not a sales pitch.
