Web development, UK

A WordPress web development company for UK teams

We develop WordPress sites and platforms for UK organisations that need more than a template can give. Custom themes, custom plugins and careful integrations, written by a team that does nothing but WordPress.

Overview

Web Development for organisations in the United Kingdom.

Plenty of UK web development companies offer WordPress among many platforms. We go the other way: all of our development work is WordPress, which means we know where it is strong, where it needs custom code, and where a plugin will cause trouble a year later.

Our developers work from Nigeria and collaborate remotely with UK clients and their in-house teams. Code is kept in version control, decisions are written down, and handover includes documentation, so your site is never a black box only we understand.

In detail

Web Development in the United Kingdom, in detail.

01

Custom themes and plugins, not plugin piles

Many slow or fragile sites are slow because of what was bolted on. We write custom themes and, when a feature is specific to your organisation, a small custom plugin instead of stacking several general ones. That keeps the site faster, easier to update and easier to secure. Where a mature plugin does the job well, such as WooCommerce, we use it and configure it properly.

02

Integrations with the tools UK teams use

UK organisations often need their site to talk to a CRM, an accounting package, an email platform or a booking system. We connect WordPress to these through their published APIs, with logging so failures are visible and retries where they matter. For payments, we integrate Stripe, GoCardless or PayPal, including Bacs Direct Debit and recurring billing in pounds. Each integration is documented with the fields it sends, so your team can audit the data flow later.

03

Built with UK GDPR in the code

Development choices affect data protection directly. We collect only the fields a form needs, avoid storing sensitive data in plain email notifications, set retention for submissions, and restrict who can see what in the dashboard. If personal data will be stored or processed outside the UK, we tell you where, so your team can confirm the transfer is covered under the ICO's international transfer rules.

04

Working alongside your in-house team

Some UK clients have their own marketing or IT staff. We work comfortably alongside them: sharing a code repository, using staging sites for review, and agreeing who owns which part. Because our hours match the UK in summer and sit one hour ahead in winter, joint calls and release windows are straightforward to arrange. Where your staff will own parts of the code after launch, we agree coding standards early and leave a written handover covering deployment and testing.

05

Pricing for development work

Development projects start from $5,000 per project. The scope depends on the features, integrations and testing required, and we break larger builds into stages. Quotes are in US dollars, with a GBP quote open for discussion, and every engagement is agreed in writing first. For organisations that need steady improvement rather than one large project, development time can also continue month by month under a growth retainer, priced and agreed the same way.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Can you work with our existing developer or agency?

Yes. We often pick up sites built by others, or work alongside an in-house developer. We start by reviewing the code and hosting, then agree how we will share the repository, staging and releases. If something in the existing build is risky, we tell you plainly and suggest options.

Who owns the code you write?

Ownership of the custom work is set out in the written scope, so it is clear before the project starts. Your domain, content and data remain yours. Third-party plugins stay under their own licences, which we list for you along with any renewals they need.

How do you test before launch?

Every build goes through a staging site you can review. We test forms, payments in test mode, user roles, integrations and key pages on phones and desktops. Launch is timed for a quiet UK period, usually an evening, with our team available for the hours after it.

Can you integrate Bacs Direct Debit?

Yes. Stripe supports Bacs Direct Debit from UK bank accounts, and GoCardless offers it through its WooCommerce extension. We set up the mandate flow, notifications and recurring billing, and explain the timings, since bank debits take several business days to confirm.

Do you sign a data processing agreement?

Where we process personal data on your behalf, for example while maintaining a site with customer records, UK GDPR expects a written contract covering that processing. Raise it during scoping and we will agree the terms as part of the engagement, alongside who can access what.
