WordPress developers, Nigeria

WordPress developers in Nigeria, with a whole team behind the code

Hiring one WordPress developer can work until that person is ill, busy or gone. With WPFlat you get Nigerian WordPress developers who work as a team, with design, review, hosting and support behind every line they write.

Overview

WordPress Developers for organisations in Nigeria.

There is no shortage of people in Nigeria who can install WordPress and a page builder. Finding someone who can write a clean custom plugin, debug a Paystack webhook at month end and explain the trade-offs to your finance director is harder. That is the gap we fill: WordPress is the only platform we work on, and it has been since 2020.

You can bring us in for a defined build, to rescue a site another developer started, or as the developers behind your own marketing team. In every case the work is scoped in writing and the code belongs to you.

In detail

WordPress Developers in Nigeria, in detail.

01

A team, not a single freelancer

A freelancer can be excellent, and many Nigerian freelancers are. The risk is concentration: one person holds the passwords, the knowledge and the timeline. When you hire our team, a second developer reviews code before it ships, a designer checks that the build matches what you approved and someone else monitors the site after launch. If a developer takes leave during a deadline week, the project keeps moving because the work is documented and shared.

02

Custom themes and plugins, written to last

We build block themes so editors can assemble pages from tested patterns, and we write plugins for logic that belongs in code rather than in a stack of add-ons. Our own plugins, emailfooter and the Bizy suite, are maintained to the same standard. For you that means fewer third-party licences to renew, fewer conflicts after updates and a codebase another competent WordPress developer could read without calling us first.

03

WooCommerce and naira payments

Much WordPress development in Nigeria ends up at the checkout. We extend WooCommerce with custom product types, booking rules or bulk pricing, and wire Paystack or Flutterwave so a transfer to a generated account number or a USSD payment confirms the order without anyone checking a bank app. Where a business also earns in other currencies, we have done that before: the BFI School platform accepts NGN, USD, GBP and EUR.

04

Working hours that match yours

Our developers are in Nigeria and keep West Africa Time, so a bug reported at 10am in Lagos or Port Harcourt is looked at by someone who is already at their desk. Stand-ups, demos and handovers happen inside your working day, not late at night across an ocean. That also matters for go-live, which we schedule for a quiet period in your traffic rather than a convenient one in ours.

05

Code that respects the NDPA

Developers make privacy decisions every day, often without noticing. Which fields a form stores, who can export them, how long they stay in the database and what happens in a log file all matter under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023. We design those choices on purpose: minimal fields, role-based access, sensible retention and admin logins that are hard to abuse, so your data protection officer is not surprised later.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Can I hire one of your WordPress developers full time?

We do not place individual developers on payroll. You engage our team for a scoped project or an ongoing retainer, and we assign the right people to it. That way you get continuity when someone is away and a reviewer on every change, without the cost and paperwork of hiring.

Do you work with page builders such as Elementor?

We can maintain or extend a site built with a page builder, and we will tell you honestly whether that is wise. For new builds we usually prefer the block editor with a custom theme, because pages load faster on Nigerian mobile data and there is less to update. We explain the trade-off during scoping.

Can you fix a site another developer left half finished?

Yes. We start with a paid audit of the code, plugins, hosting and access, then give you a written report. Some projects can be completed from where they stopped. Others carry enough risk that a clean rebuild costs less in the long run, and we will say which applies.

Do you invoice in naira?

Our starting prices are published in US dollars. For clients in Nigeria we discuss naira invoicing where possible, and the currency and payment stages are fixed in the written scope before any development begins. Payments are normally split into milestones, such as scope approval, staging sign-off and launch, so you are never paying far ahead of the work you have seen.

How much does it cost to hire your WordPress developers?

Development projects start from $5,000 per project, and Managed Services retainers start from $2,000 per year. The final figure depends on the features, integrations and amount of custom code involved, which we set out in a written scope after a discovery call.

Can you work alongside our in-house team?

Yes. Some clients keep content and marketing in house and use us for the engineering. We agree how code moves between environments, who approves releases and how requests reach us, so both teams know where responsibility sits. Your developers, if you have any, get access to our documentation and can review our pull requests too.
