E-learning and LMS, Nigeria

E-learning platforms for Nigerian schools, trainers and course creators

We build WordPress learning platforms where students enrol, pay, study, take quizzes and earn certificates. They are designed for Nigerian learners who study on phones and pay in ways that suit them.

Overview

E-learning Platforms for organisations in Nigeria.

Online learning in Nigeria is no longer a pandemic stopgap. Schools want a place for lessons and assignments, professional trainers want to sell courses beyond their city, and organisations want to train staff without flying them to a venue. The tools exist, but stitching them together into something learners actually finish takes care.

Our team has built two very different learning platforms on WordPress: the virtual learning environment Alvina Schools uses, and the BFI School platform with payments in four currencies, certificates and affiliates. We use that experience to shape yours.

In detail

E-learning Platforms in Nigeria, in detail.

01

Courses, lessons and progress

We set up a learning management system inside WordPress so you can build courses from lessons, video, downloads and quizzes, release them on a schedule and track each learner's progress. Instructors see who is stuck and where. Learners see what they have completed and what comes next. The structure is planned with you during discovery, because a school timetable and a self-paced professional course need very different shapes.

02

Payments learners can actually make

Course sales in Nigeria fail when checkout assumes everyone has a working card. We connect Paystack or Flutterwave so learners can pay by card, transfer or USSD, with access granted automatically once payment is confirmed. If you also sell to the diaspora or international students, we can price in more than one currency, as BFI School does with NGN, USD, GBP and EUR.

03

Built for phones and limited data

Most of your learners will study on a phone, and every video they stream costs them data. We host video on a suitable service rather than your web server, offer lower-quality streams and downloadable notes where sensible, and keep lesson pages light. Quizzes work comfortably on a small screen. A learner who can study on the bus is a learner who finishes the course.

04

Certificates, cohorts and affiliates

Completion certificates with the learner's name and a verification link give your course credibility with employers. Cohort features let you run a class that starts together, with deadlines and discussion. Affiliate tracking rewards partners who send you students. BFI School uses certificates and affiliates today, so these are features we have shipped rather than ones we are reading about. Each one is optional and priced into the scope only if you need it.

05

Learner data under the NDPA

A learning platform stores names, contact details, progress and sometimes the details of minors. The Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 expects a lawful basis for that processing and proper protection. We collect only what teaching requires, separate marketing consent from enrolment, restrict instructor access to their own learners and give you tools to export or delete a learner's record when they ask.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Why build on WordPress instead of using a hosted course platform?

Hosted platforms are quick to start but often charge per learner or take a share of sales, and many do not support Nigerian payment channels well. A WordPress platform is yours, works with Paystack or Flutterwave and can grow with custom features. We discuss both options honestly during discovery.

Can learners pay in naira and in dollars?

Yes. Local learners can pay in naira by card, transfer or USSD through Paystack or Flutterwave, and international learners can pay in other currencies. BFI School, which we built, takes NGN, USD, GBP and EUR. We agree with you how the price in each currency is set and reviewed.

Can we host live classes?

We integrate live sessions from tools such as Zoom or Google Meet into course schedules, with links shown only to enrolled learners and recordings added to the lesson afterwards. The live video itself runs on that service, not on your website.

Will the platform cope when a cohort starts?

We plan hosting for enrolment peaks and can increase server resources on Cloudways before a launch, then scale back afterwards so you are not paying for idle capacity. Payment and enrolment flows are tested under realistic conditions first, including transfer and USSD payments.

How much does an e-learning platform cost?

Learning platforms are development projects starting from $5,000. Price depends on the number of courses to set up, payment and certificate requirements, integrations and custom features, all agreed in a written scope. Ongoing hosting, updates and support afterwards are covered by Managed Services from $2,000 per year.
