Business email, Nigeria

Business email for Nigerian companies, set up so it actually arrives

A company email address on your own domain tells customers you are established. We set it up on Google Workspace, Microsoft 365 or Zoho, configure the records that keep it out of spam, and make sure your website's emails are delivered too.

Overview

Business Email for organisations in Nigeria.

Many Nigerian businesses still trade from a free webmail address, or have a company email that sends reliably one week and lands in spam the next. Both cost you. Customers hesitate to pay an invoice from a free address, and a quote that never reaches the client's inbox is a sale you never knew you lost.

We treat email as part of your website infrastructure, because it shares the same domain and the same DNS. We set it up properly once, document it and keep it working.

In detail

Business Email in Nigeria, in detail.

01

Choosing a provider

Google Workspace, Microsoft 365 and Zoho Mail all provide professional mailboxes on your own domain, and each suits a different kind of team. Google is familiar to anyone who has used Gmail, Microsoft fits businesses that live in Word and Excel, and Zoho is often chosen by smaller teams watching costs. We explain the differences, then set up the one you pick. The subscription is in your company's name.

02

SPF, DKIM and DMARC explained

These three DNS records prove that email claiming to come from your domain really does. SPF lists the services allowed to send for you, DKIM signs each message, and DMARC tells receiving servers what to do with mail that fails the checks. Gmail and Yahoo now expect senders to authenticate, so without these records your messages are increasingly likely to be rejected or filed as spam.

03

Your website's emails count too

Order confirmations, Paystack receipts, password resets and contact form notifications are all sent by your website, and they fail more often than people realise. We route WordPress mail through an authenticated sending service instead of the web server's default mailer, include it in your SPF and DKIM records and test delivery. A customer who paid by transfer should always receive the order confirmation.

04

Your .com.ng or .ng domain

An address at your .com.ng or .ng domain signals a Nigerian business clearly. If you do not have a domain yet, we register one in your organisation's name through a NiRA-accredited registrar. If you already have one, we check who controls it, because email stops the day a forgotten domain expires. Renewal dates are recorded so that never catches you out.

05

Mailboxes, privacy and staff changes

Email holds customer conversations, CVs and contracts, all personal data under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023. We set up two-step verification, shared mailboxes for sales or support so messages are not trapped in one person's inbox, and a simple process for when staff leave: access removed, mail forwarded or archived. Our free emailfooter plugin gives everyone a consistent signature.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

How do I create a business email in Nigeria?

You need a domain, such as yourcompany.com.ng, and an email service such as Google Workspace, Microsoft 365 or Zoho. The service gives you mailboxes, and DNS records connect them to your domain. We handle the whole process, including the authentication records most quick setups skip.

Can I use the free email that came with my hosting?

You can, and some small businesses do. Hosting mailboxes often have limited storage, weaker spam filtering and poorer delivery. For a growing team we usually recommend a dedicated provider, with proper spam protection, mobile apps and shared calendars, but we will tell you honestly if hosting mail is enough for your size.

Can you move our old emails across?

Yes. We migrate existing mailboxes from a free webmail account or another provider into the new service, then switch the DNS records at a quiet time so no incoming mail is lost during the move. Staff keep their old messages, folders and contacts in the new mailbox.

Why do our emails keep going to spam?

The usual causes are missing or wrong SPF, DKIM or DMARC records, a website sending mail without authentication or a domain with a poor sending history. We check each of these, fix the records and test delivery to major inbox providers.

How much does business email setup cost?

Domain and email management is part of Managed Services, which start from $2,000 per year. The email provider charges its own subscription per user, paid in your name. Setup on its own can be scoped as a small project.
