Website redesign, Sweden

Website redesign for Swedish organisations, without losing what works

We redesign and rebuild existing websites for organisations in Sweden on WordPress, keeping your domain, your content and the search visibility you have earned. The new site is faster, accessible and easier for your team to run.

Overview

Website Redesign for organisations in Sweden.

Most redesigns are triggered by a feeling: the site looks dated, editing is painful, or it no longer reflects the organisation. Those are good reasons, but a redesign done carelessly can throw away years of search rankings, links and content that still works.

We treat a redesign as a careful rebuild. We audit what you have, keep what earns its place and carry content over into the new WordPress site, just as we did for Verbatim and WL Construction.

In detail

Website Redesign in Sweden, in detail.

01

An audit before any new design

We start by crawling your current site and reviewing analytics and Search Console data. Which pages bring visitors from Swedish searches? Which forms convert? Which content is outdated or duplicated? We also check accessibility against WCAG 2.1 AA, cookie consent against PTS expectations and loading speed on mobile. The audit gives you a plain list of what to keep, what to improve and what to retire.

02

Keeping your search visibility

Old URLs carry value. Partners link to them, directories list them and search engines have ranked them. We map every valuable address to its new home and set permanent redirects before launch, then monitor Search Console afterwards and fix errors quickly. Page titles, headings and structured data are carried over or improved rather than lost in the rebuild. Internal links are updated to point directly at new addresses, so visitors and search engines do not pass through unnecessary redirects.

03

Accessibility as part of the redesign

Many Swedish sites built a few years ago were never designed with accessibility in mind. Since June 2025 the Accessibility Act has covered e-commerce services, and public bodies must meet the DOS law. A redesign is the cheapest moment to fix this properly. We rebuild to WCAG 2.1 AA as standard, so contrast, focus, headings and forms are right from the first template rather than patched later.

04

Content carried over, then improved

We move pages, news, documents and images into the new site and clean up formatting rather than copying old markup. Swedish and English content stays paired where you have both. Where copy needs rewriting, your team or translator supplies the new text and we place it, so nothing in Swedish is written by us. Old documents and PDFs that are still useful are moved and linked, while outdated ones are retired with redirects where they had value.

05

Rebuilt on your existing domain

Your .se domain stays exactly where it is, registered in your organisation's name. We build the new site on a staging server, review it with you, then switch at a quiet Swedish hour. Email records stay untouched so mail keeps flowing. Redesigns usually combine Strategy and Design, from $1,500, with Development, from $5,000, depending on how much functionality changes.

Our work

Platforms we have built.

Verbatim and WL Construction were redesigns of existing websites where content was carried over into rebuilt WordPress sites, the same approach we take for Swedish clients.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Will we lose our Google rankings?

A redesign with a complete redirect map and preserved page content should hold its position. Some short-term movement is normal while search engines recrawl the site. We monitor Search Console after launch, fix crawl errors promptly and keep the old URL list for reference.

Can you redesign a site that is not on WordPress?

Yes. Many redesigns are also platform moves, from a website builder or older CMS to WordPress. In that case we combine the redesign with a migration, so content, redirects and data move in one planned project with one team responsible.

Do we need to rewrite all our content?

Usually not. Much existing content can be carried over and improved with better structure and headings. Where new copy is needed in Swedish, your team or translator provides it. We can suggest which pages most need attention based on the audit.

Will the site be offline during the redesign?

No. Your current site keeps running while we build the new one on a staging server. The switch takes place at a quiet time, and visitors simply arrive at the new site once DNS updates. We confirm email is unaffected before we close the project.

What does a redesign cost?

It depends on how much changes. A visual refresh on existing functionality sits under Strategy and Design, from $1,500. A redesign that adds a shop, member area or integrations also involves Development, from $5,000. Your written scope sets out the exact price.
