Overview

Web Application Development for organisations in Sweden.

Plenty of organisations run important processes on spreadsheets, email threads and disconnected tools: applications, bookings, approvals, partner documents, member records. A web application brings that work into one place, with the right people seeing the right information and a record of what happened.

WordPress is a sound base for many of these systems. It provides users, roles, an admin interface and a large ecosystem, and we add the custom logic. Web applications sit under Development, from $5,000 per project.

In detail

Web Application Development in Sweden, in detail.

01

Portals for customers, members and partners

A portal gives each user a secure area with their own information: documents, orders, bookings, applications or invoices. We build login with strong passwords and optional two-factor authentication, role-based views and clear dashboards. A Swedish housing association, membership body or wholesaler can let users serve themselves instead of emailing staff for every update, and staff see a complete history for each account.

02

Workflows and approvals

Many processes follow steps: submit, review, approve, notify. We model those steps in the application, with status changes, assigned reviewers, deadlines and automatic email notifications. Our recruitment portal and HR dashboard for ASEP Logistics works this way, taking candidates from application to decision. The same patterns suit grant applications, supplier onboarding or internal requests. Each step can have its own form, permissions and deadline, and managers see at a glance where items are waiting.

03

Personal data by design

Applications often hold more personal data than a website, so we design for the GDPR from the start: collect only necessary fields, separate who can see what, keep audit logs where they matter and set retention rules so old records are removed. Data is hosted in the EU by default. If a breach occurs, clear logs help your organisation decide quickly on a report to IMY, which expects one within 72 hours where people are at risk.

04

Payments and integrations

Applications that charge fees can take payments through Stripe with cards, Swish for customers in Sweden or Klarna for consumers. We integrate with CRMs, accounting software and other systems through their APIs, with logging so failed syncs are noticed. Where a service sits outside the EU, we flag it so your data protection lead can assess the transfer. Webhooks from payment providers are verified, so a status in your application always matches what was actually paid.

05

Accessible, documented, yours

Internal tools must be accessible too, and public bodies covered by the DOS law need it. We build interfaces to WCAG 2.1 AA as standard. Every application comes with technical documentation and admin guides, and once paid, the code belongs to your organisation, so you are never locked in to us. We can also host and maintain the application after launch under Managed Services, as we do for platforms we have built for other clients.

ASEP Logistics runs recruitment and HR through a portal we built, the boot camp registration system for Nigeria's Federal Ministry of Education handled registrations for a national boot camp, and Technext Events handles ticketing and QR check-in.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Why build a web application on WordPress?

WordPress already provides user management, roles, an admin interface and a mature security model, which saves time and cost. We add the custom logic your process needs. Many developers know WordPress, so your organisation is not dependent on a single supplier.

Can it integrate with our existing systems?

Usually, yes, if the system offers an API. We have connected WordPress to CRMs, payment providers and other tools. During scoping we check each system's documentation and confirm what can be exchanged, how often and what happens if a connection fails.

Where will our data be hosted?

On EU servers through our hosting partners by default. If your sector or contracts require storage in Sweden or with a particular provider, the hosting choice is agreed with you and your legal adviser before we build. The location is documented for your records.

How do you manage a project of this size?

We break it into phases with a written scope for each. You see working software at each milestone on a staging site, and your feedback shapes the next phase. Our hours overlap with Swedish office time, so review meetings are easy to schedule.

What does a web application cost?

Web applications start from $5,000 per project. Complex systems are often split into phases so the core launches first. Each phase is priced in USD in a written scope, with a kronor reference figure on request, and paid by milestone.
