Managed web hosting in Sweden for WordPress sites

We host Swedish WordPress sites through our partners Cloudways and Hostinger, on servers chosen for speed and for where your data should live. You get the server, the setup and a team that looks after it.

Overview

Web Hosting for organisations in Sweden.

Cheap shared hosting is easy to buy and hard to live with: slow pages, noisy neighbours, backups you have never tested and support that cannot touch WordPress itself. Managed hosting means someone takes responsibility for the whole stack, from server to plugins.

Hosting is part of our Managed Services, from $2,000 per year, usually combined with maintenance so one team answers for the site end to end.

In detail

Web Hosting in Sweden, in detail.

01

Keeping data inside the EU

Under the GDPR, keeping personal data within the EU avoids the extra transfer questions that come with servers elsewhere. Hostinger offers web and cloud hosting in France, Germany, Lithuania and the Netherlands, all short network hops from Swedish visitors, and Cloudways offers European locations across several infrastructure providers. Where your sector or contracts require data to be stored in a particular country, the hosting choice is agreed with you and your legal adviser before we provision anything.

02

Speed for Swedish visitors

Distance adds delay, so a Swedish audience is served well from a nearby European data centre combined with page caching and a content delivery network for images and scripts. We measure real loading times from Sweden after launch rather than relying on a host's marketing figures. Lean themes matter just as much as servers: a well-built site on modest hosting often outperforms a heavy site on expensive hardware.

03

Your .se domain, set up properly

.se domains are managed by the Swedish Internet Foundation and registered through its accredited registrars, and anyone can register one. We register or connect your domain in your organisation's name, set DNS for the website and email, and enable DNSSEC where the registrar supports it. If your name contains å, ä or ö, we usually recommend registering the plain spelling too and using it for email.

04

Backups, security and monitoring

Every hosted site gets automated daily backups stored away from the server, a firewall, malware scanning and uptime monitoring. We test restores, not just backups. SSL certificates renew automatically, and server software stays patched. If an incident involves personal data, you get a clear account quickly, so your data protection lead can decide on a report to IMY within its 72-hour expectation.

05

Moving your site to us

If your site already runs on a Swedish webbhotell or elsewhere, we move it with a copy on the new server, tests on a temporary address and a DNS switch at a quiet hour. Email records are copied first so mail keeps arriving. Moves are covered by our Migrations service, from $1,000 per migration, or included when you take hosting with us.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Can our website be hosted in Sweden itself?

If your organisation needs servers physically in Sweden, we agree the provider with you and your legal adviser at the start. For most Swedish sites, an EU data centre such as Germany, the Netherlands or Lithuania keeps data under the GDPR and loads quickly. We confirm available locations at the time of setup.

Who owns the .se domain?

Your organisation. We register it in your name through an accredited registrar, or connect a domain you already hold. You keep the login details, so you can move the domain at any time without needing our permission. We simply manage the DNS on your behalf.

Do you host email as well?

We recommend running email on Google Workspace, Microsoft 365 or Zoho rather than on the web server, so a website problem never takes your mailboxes down. We set up the DNS records, including SPF, DKIM and DMARC, as part of hosting setup.

What happens if our site goes down?

Monitoring alerts us, and because our working day lines up with Swedish office hours we usually respond while your team is at work. We restore service first, then investigate the cause and tell you what happened and what we changed.

How much does hosting cost?

Managed Services start from $2,000 per year and normally combine hosting and maintenance. The figure depends on traffic, storage, whether the site runs a shop, and the level of support you need, and it is confirmed in a written scope.
