WordPress developers for US companies, as a specialist team

When you need a WordPress developer in the USA, you can hire one person or bring in a small specialist team. We are the second option: senior WordPress developers working remotely from Nigeria, with a daily overlap with US business hours.

Overview

WordPress Developers for organisations in the United States.

Hiring a WordPress developer usually starts with a job board or a freelance marketplace, and for small, well-defined tasks that can work. The trouble starts when the work grows: one person cannot cover design, front-end, back-end, WooCommerce, hosting and support at once, and when they are ill or busy with another client, your project stops.

WPFlat gives you a team that only does WordPress. You get the focus of a specialist and the continuity of an agency, with one written scope and one point of contact. Our clients include BFI Insights LLC in the United States, whose BFI School platform we built and support.

In detail

WordPress Developers in the United States, in detail.

01

A team rather than a single freelancer

A freelancer is a good choice for a quick fix or a small plugin tweak. For a site that drives revenue, a team reduces risk. Our work is reviewed by a second developer before it ships, documented so anyone on the team can pick it up, and supported by people who know the codebase. If someone is away, work continues. You also avoid managing several freelancers for design, development and hosting, which is often where projects lose time and money.

02

What our WordPress developers build

Most US requests fall into a few groups: custom block themes that replace slow page builders, custom plugins for business rules, WooCommerce stores with Stripe, PayPal or WooPayments, learning and membership platforms, and integrations with CRMs and marketing tools. We also take on rescue work, where a site has been patched by several hands and needs to be made stable before anything new is added. The common thread is code that follows WordPress standards and that you own.

03

Remote work that fits a US schedule

Our team works from Nigeria, five to six hours ahead of US Eastern Time. You can join a stand-up or review call in your morning, then hand us decisions that we act on while you work through your afternoon. For urgent production issues we agree a contact route at the start. Every project uses a shared board, a staging site and written updates, so remote work stays visible rather than becoming a black box.

04

Standards US clients ask about

American buyers increasingly ask about accessibility and privacy before they hire. Our developers build to WCAG 2.1 AA, the standard the Department of Justice cites as helpful guidance for ADA web accessibility, and test with assistive technology. We handle consent and opt-out behaviour for state privacy laws such as the CCPA in code, so scripts respect visitor choices. We follow WordPress coding standards, use version control, and never edit live sites directly.

05

How to hire us

Start with a short call about the work and your existing site or repository. We review the code, agree what needs to happen first, and send a written scope priced in US dollars. Development projects start from $5,000. If you need an ongoing developer relationship rather than a single project, our Managed Services, from $2,000 per year, cover maintenance with an allowance for development time.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Should we hire a freelancer or an agency for WordPress?

For small, contained tasks a freelancer can be fine. For a site that takes payments, runs a platform or needs ongoing development, a specialist team is safer: code review, documentation and continuity come built in. We are happy to say when a freelancer would suit you better.

Do your developers work US hours?

Part of our day overlaps with US Eastern mornings, and that is when we hold calls and reviews. The rest of our working day falls before yours starts, so progress is usually ready when you log on. Pacific Time clients get early-morning calls and written updates.

Can you take over a site another developer built?

Yes. We start with a code and plugin audit, note the risks, and stabilise the site before adding features. If the existing code is poorly structured, we explain the options, from tidying it gradually to rebuilding key parts, with costs for each.

Can we hire you for ongoing development rather than a project?

Yes. Many clients move from a build project to Managed Services, from $2,000 per year, which covers maintenance and an agreed allowance for development work. Larger features are scoped and quoted separately. The developers on your plan already know your codebase, so there is no repeated onboarding.

How do contracts and payment work for US companies?

We send a written scope and proposal in US dollars, with milestones for invoicing. Your company keeps ownership of the code, domain and hosting accounts throughout. There are no hidden licence fees for our custom work. We are happy to review your company's standard contract terms if you prefer to use them.
