Overview

Web Hosting for organisations in the United States.

There is no shortage of web hosting in the USA, and much of it is cheap for a reason: crowded servers, slow support and nobody responsible for the WordPress layer. When a plugin conflict takes the site down, the host says it is an application problem and the developer says it is a server problem.

Our managed hosting removes that gap. We choose and configure the server, run WordPress on it, and take responsibility for both. You get one team to call, and a host chosen for your traffic and audience rather than an advertising budget.

In detail

Web Hosting in the United States, in detail.

01

Servers close to US visitors

Distance still matters for speed. Hostinger lists Phoenix, Boston and Asheville as US locations for its web hosting, and Cloudways offers US regions through its cloud providers, including DigitalOcean in New York and San Francisco. We pick the region nearest your main audience, East or West, and add a content delivery network for visitors further away. For national audiences we usually choose an East Coast region and let caching do the rest.

02

.com, .us and your DNS

Most American businesses use a .com, and that works anywhere. The .us domain is also available, but only to registrants with a genuine US connection, such as US citizens and residents, organisations formed in the US, or foreign entities with a bona fide presence, and the registry runs spot checks. We help you register or transfer the right domain, set up DNS, SSL and email records, and keep everything in your company's name.

03

Hosting that supports your compliance work

US privacy laws such as the CCPA focus on how you collect, use and share personal information rather than requiring a particular server location. Hosting still plays a part: encrypted connections, restricted access, logs and backups that can be deleted when data must go. We configure servers with SSL everywhere, limited administrator access, two-factor login and backup retention that matches what your privacy policy says, so your documents and your infrastructure agree.

04

Speed, caching and security

We set up server-level caching, object caching where it helps, image optimisation and a content delivery network. Fast pages matter for search and for visitors on phones. Security covers a firewall, malware scanning, automatic SSL renewal and isolated environments for staging. Daily backups are kept off the server and tested by restoring them, so recovery from a bad update or an attack is a routine task rather than a crisis.

05

Pricing and ownership

Managed hosting is part of our Managed Services, from $2,000 per year in US dollars, and includes WordPress maintenance as well as the server. The scope is agreed in writing. You can hold the hosting account yourself with us as collaborators, or let us manage it under your company's name. Either way, you can leave at any time with a full copy of the site.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Where will our site be hosted?

In a US region chosen for your audience, through Cloudways or Hostinger. Hostinger lists Phoenix, Boston and Asheville for web hosting, and Cloudways offers US regions including New York and San Francisco through DigitalOcean. Final availability is confirmed when we set the server up.

Can we register a .us domain?

If you meet the nexus requirements, yes: US citizens and residents, organisations formed in the US, and foreign entities with a bona fide US presence can register. Most businesses also hold the .com. We register or transfer domains in your company's name.

Is managed hosting worth it compared with cheap shared hosting?

For a brochure site with little traffic, cheap hosting may be enough. Once your site takes payments, leads or member logins, the cost of downtime or a hack usually outweighs the saving. Managed hosting puts one team in charge of both server and WordPress.

Do you host sites you did not build?

Yes. We audit the site first, move it to a suitable server, and fix anything that would make hosting it unsafe. The migration is planned to avoid downtime, with DNS switched once the new copy has been tested. You receive a short report on what we found and fixed.

What does hosting cost with you?

Managed Services, which include hosting and maintenance, start from $2,000 per year, priced in US dollars. The plan depends on traffic, the size of the site and support needs, and it is agreed in writing before we start. Domain renewals and any premium licences are listed separately in the proposal.
