WordPress developers for Ghanaian organisations

When a Ghanaian business needs serious WordPress work, a single freelancer is not always enough. We are a specialist WordPress team in West Africa, one hour ahead of Accra, who build, review and support every project together.

Overview

WordPress Developers for organisations in Ghana.

Ghana has capable WordPress talent, and many organisations start with a freelancer they trust. The difficulty comes later, when the site grows into a shop with MTN MoMo checkout, a members' area or an integration with an accounting system, and the one person who understands it is unavailable. That is usually when we are called.

We do not have an office in Ghana and do not pretend to. We work remotely with Ghanaian clients from Nigeria, in almost the same working day, and everything we do is scoped in writing, documented and owned by you.

In detail

WordPress Developers in Ghana, in detail.

01

Specialists, not generalists

WordPress is the only platform we work on. That focus shows in the details a generalist misses: how a plugin update interacts with a payment gateway, why a page builder is slowing your homepage on a phone, or when a few lines of custom code would replace three paid add-ons. We also maintain our own plugins, emailfooter and the Bizy suite, so we know how WordPress behaves from the inside, not just from the dashboard.

02

Custom themes and plugins for Ghanaian requirements

Requirements in Ghana are often specific: a form that routes applications to different regional offices, a price list in cedis that staff update weekly, or a members' directory for a professional association. We build those as clean custom plugins and block themes rather than stacks of add-ons, which keeps pages lighter and leaves fewer third-party updates to break. The code is documented so any competent developer could pick it up.

03

WooCommerce and mobile money

A Ghanaian shop that only takes cards turns many buyers away. We connect WooCommerce to Paystack or Flutterwave so customers can pay in GHS with MTN MoMo, Telecel Cash or AirtelTigo Money as well as cards. Our developers handle the pending state while a customer approves the payment on their handset, and the webhook that marks the order paid once approval arrives, so staff are not chasing confirmations by phone.

04

One hour apart, not one ocean

Ghana keeps Greenwich Mean Time all year and our team is one hour ahead in Lagos. In practice a 9am stand-up in Accra is 10am for us, and our developers are still working when your afternoon questions arrive. Launches are scheduled for a quiet hour in your traffic. Compare that with outsourcing to a team six or more hours away, where a simple question can wait overnight.

05

Code that supports Act 843 compliance

Ghana's Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843) requires every data controller and processor to register with the Data Protection Commission. Your developers decide much of what that registration has to describe: which fields are stored, who can see them and where they are kept. We build with minimal data collection, role-based access and clear retention, and we document it so your registration reflects what the website really does.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Do you have WordPress developers based in Ghana?

No. Our team is based in Nigeria and works remotely with organisations in Ghana. Because Ghana is only one hour behind Lagos, our working days overlap almost completely, and video calls, shared project boards and written updates keep everyone aligned without anyone needing to travel.

Can I hire a single developer from your team on a monthly basis?

We do not hire out individual developers. You engage the team for a scoped project or a Managed Services retainer, and we assign the right people. That gives you cover when someone is away and a second pair of eyes on every change, which a lone contractor cannot offer.

Can you continue a project a Ghanaian freelancer started?

Usually, yes. We begin with an audit of the code, plugins, hosting and access, then give you a written report. If the foundations are sound we carry on from where the work stopped. If they are not, we explain why and what a sensible path forward would cost.

Do you invoice in US dollars or cedis?

Our starting prices are published in US dollars, and we usually invoice in dollars. If cedi invoicing would help your finance team, raise it during scoping and we will discuss what is possible. Currency and payment stages are fixed in the written scope before work starts.

How much does it cost to work with your WordPress developers?

Development projects start from $5,000 per project, and ongoing support through Managed Services starts from $2,000 per year. The final price depends on what you need built, which we confirm in a written scope after a discovery call with your team.

Will VAT apply to your services in Ghana?

The Ghana Revenue Authority treats services such as website supply, hosting and remote maintenance from non-resident providers as electronic services that can attract VAT. Ask your accountant how this applies to your organisation, and we will provide whatever invoice detail they need.
