Website redesign for Ghana

Website redesign for Ghanaian organisations that have outgrown their site

We redesign Ghanaian websites by finding out what the current one does well before changing anything. Then we rebuild on WordPress, on your existing domain, so visitors and search engines move with you.

Overview

Website Redesign for organisations in Ghana.

In Ghana, a website often stays the same for years while the organisation behind it changes completely. New services, a new logo, a shop that was added later, a news section nobody updates: eventually the site tells visitors a story that is no longer true. A redesign fixes that, but only if it is grounded in what your visitors actually do.

We start from evidence: your analytics, your search data and the questions your staff answer every day. The aim is a site that looks current, loads quickly on a phone and is easy for your team to keep up to date.

In detail

Website Redesign in Ghana, in detail.

01

An audit before any new design

The first step is a written audit. We look at which pages bring in visitors from search, which produce enquiries or sales, where people leave and how long key pages take to load on a mid-range phone. We also check plugins, security, accessibility and who holds the logins for the domain and hosting. Your leadership team receives clear recommendations, so the redesign brief is agreed on facts rather than personal taste.

02

Protecting the search traffic you already have

If your current site ranks for useful searches, a careless redesign can throw that away. We list every existing URL, decide where each one should live on the new site and set permanent redirects so nothing returns an error. Titles and headings on pages that perform are kept or improved, not rewritten for the sake of it. After launch we monitor Search Console and fix anything that slipped through.

03

Rebuilt on your .com.gh domain

A .com.gh address managed under the Ghana Network Information Center tells visitors you are a Ghanaian organisation, and it carries your search history. We keep it. The new site is built on a private staging copy while the old one carries on working, and the switch happens at a quiet time agreed with you. Email on the domain is left untouched unless you want it changed.

04

Checkout and forms updated for today

Older sites in Ghana often have payment or contact features that no longer match how people pay or what the law expects. During a redesign we can replace an outdated checkout with Paystack or Flutterwave so customers pay with MTN MoMo, Telecel Cash, AirtelTigo Money or cards, and design a clear screen for the moment they approve on their phone. Forms are trimmed to the data you need, in line with your Data Protection Commission registration.

05

Faster on Ghanaian mobile connections

Many redesigns we see are slowed by heavy sliders, autoplay video and plugins nobody uses any more. We strip those out, compress images and simplify menus so the site responds quickly on mobile data. We then test on real phones before launch. A lighter site is easier to use, cheaper for visitors to load and easier for your team to maintain.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Will our redesigned site lose its Google rankings?

Not if the redesign is planned properly. We map every old address to a new one, keep strong pages intact and watch Search Console after launch. Some short-term movement is normal, but a careful redesign should keep the visibility your current site has built up over the years.

Can you redesign a site built on Wix or another platform?

Yes. Many Ghanaian organisations move from a website builder to WordPress during a redesign so they own the site fully. Moving content and setting redirects is migration work, which we include in the written scope so the price reflects everything involved.

Do we have to change our .com.gh domain?

No. We keep your existing domain and point it at the new site when it is ready. Your email stays where it is unless you ask us to move it. If nobody on your team can access the domain account, we help you recover control before launch.

How do design reviews work if you are not in Accra?

We share designs as clickable prototypes you can open on your own phone, then talk them through on a video call at a time that suits your working day. With only an hour's difference, scheduling is simple, and every decision is recorded in writing.

What does a website redesign cost?

Strategy and Design projects start from $1,500. If the redesign adds significant new features, such as a shop or members' area, that part is development from $5,000, and moving from another platform is a migration from $1,000. You receive one written scope covering all of it.
