Web applications for Ghana

Web applications for Ghanaian organisations, built on WordPress

Application portals, membership systems, staff dashboards and booking workflows are web applications, and we build them on WordPress. You get custom software that fits your process, with accounts, security and an admin area already in place.

Overview

Web Application Development for organisations in Ghana.

Across Ghana, important processes still run on paper forms, spreadsheets and WhatsApp messages: recruitment, membership renewals, grant applications, event registrations, internal approvals. That works at small scale, then breaks when volume rises or the one person who knows the system goes on leave. A web application gives the process a proper home.

We build these applications on WordPress because it already handles users, roles, security updates and administration well. Your budget goes on the logic that is unique to your organisation.

In detail

Web Application Development in Ghana, in detail.

01

Portals for applicants, members and staff

Most applications we build are portals with several kinds of user. An applicant submits documents and checks their status; a reviewer scores applications; a manager approves; an administrator exports reports. We design the screens and permissions for each role carefully, so people see exactly what they need and nothing more. ASEP Logistics in Nigeria uses a recruitment portal and HR dashboard our team built in this way.

02

Workflows with automatic notifications

A workflow is a series of states: submitted, under review, approved, rejected, completed. We turn your process into those states and rules, so the system moves each item along and sends the right email or SMS at each step. Staff stop chasing people for updates and managers can see where everything stands. The boot camp registration platform we delivered for Nigeria's Federal Ministry of Education with PLANE-FCDO worked this way.

03

Mobile money inside the process

When a step involves payment, such as an application fee, membership dues or an event ticket, we build Paystack or Flutterwave into the flow so the payer can use MTN MoMo, Telecel Cash, AirtelTigo Money or a card in cedis. The record updates once the payer approves on their phone. Technext Events sold and scanned more than 10,000 tickets through a system our team built, with QR check-in at the door.

04

Dashboards your managers will use

Exports have their place, but managers want answers on screen. We build dashboards showing the figures your team checks every week, such as applications by stage, payments received, members due for renewal or staff by location, with filters for dates and regions. Each role sees only the data it should, and full exports to Excel remain available for finance teams and funders.

05

Data protection designed in

Applications usually store more personal data than a public website. Ghana's Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843) requires your organisation to register with the Data Protection Commission, and your registration should describe the data this system holds. We restrict access by role, log sensitive actions, encrypt connections, collect only what the process needs and provide tools to export or delete a person's record on request.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Why build a web application on WordPress rather than from scratch?

WordPress already provides user accounts, roles, a secure admin area and a well-tested update process, and many developers know it. Building on it means your budget goes into the logic specific to you. If a requirement does not suit WordPress, we tell you during discovery.

Will the application work on phones?

Yes. Everything we build is responsive and tested on mid-range Android phones, because many Ghanaian applicants, members and field staff will only ever use it that way. We do not build native app store apps, but a well-designed web application covers most needs.

Can it connect to software we already use?

Usually, yes. We integrate with CRMs, accounting and HR tools, SMS providers and email platforms through their APIs. Each integration is listed in the written scope, including what data moves, how often and what happens if the other service is down.

How do we work with you from Ghana?

We work remotely from Nigeria, one hour ahead of Accra. Discovery workshops, demos and testing sessions happen on video calls during your working day, and you can test the application on a staging site at any time. Every decision is recorded in writing.

How much does web application development cost?

Development projects start from $5,000. Applications vary a great deal, so the price depends on the roles, workflows, payments, integrations and reports involved. We agree a written scope and fixed price after discovery, and any additions are quoted before work on them begins.
