Overview

Website Maintenance for organisations in Ghana.

Websites rarely fail on launch day. They fail months later, when a plugin update clashes with a payment gateway, a password is reused, or a backup turns out to be missing. Maintenance is the dull, steady work that prevents those days.

Our managed services start from $2,000 per year and cover maintenance and security, performance, and support. We agree the scope in writing, including what counts as a fix and what counts as new work.

In detail

Website Maintenance in Ghana, in detail.

01

Updates tested before they go live

We apply WordPress core, theme and plugin updates on a staging copy first, check the pages and journeys that matter, and only then update the live site. For Ghanaian shops and portals that means placing a test order with mobile money, submitting the main forms and logging in as a member before we call an update done. If something breaks, it breaks on staging, where your customers never see it.

02

Keeping payment plugins current

Payment gateways change their APIs and plugins on their own schedule. When Paystack or Flutterwave release updates, we review the changes, test checkout on MTN MoMo, Telecel Cash and AirtelTigo Money flows, and confirm that webhooks still mark orders as paid. We also watch for the small things that cause failed payments, such as expired API keys or a changed callback URL after a domain move.

03

Security and backups

Every maintained site gets a firewall, malware scanning, login protection and off-site backups we have actually tested by restoring. We enforce strong passwords and two-factor login for administrators, and remove accounts for staff who have left. If a site is compromised, our first job is to contain it and restore a clean copy, then explain what happened in plain language.

04

Compliance hygiene under Act 843

Ghana's Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843) requires data controllers and processors to register with the Data Protection Commission, and registrations need renewing. Maintenance is a good moment to keep the website side of that in order. Each year we review what personal data your forms and plugins collect, remove fields and plugins you no longer use, and update the data record we gave you, so your renewal describes the site as it really is.

05

Support on Ghanaian time

Ghana keeps GMT all year, one hour behind Lagos, so our support day covers yours. You raise requests by email or a shared tracker, and we reply with what we will do and when. A short monthly report shows updates applied, issues fixed, uptime and anything we think needs a decision. Urgent problems, such as a site outage or failed checkout, are handled ahead of routine requests.

Our work

Platforms we have built.

Built and supported by our team outside Ghana, these sites show the kind of upkeep we do: a ticketing platform that handled 10,000+ tickets and a portal holding sensitive applicant data.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Can you maintain a site we did not build with you?

Yes. We start with an onboarding audit of the code, plugins, hosting and backups. Anything risky goes into a short report with recommendations. We fix the urgent items first. Once the site is in a stable state, it moves onto the regular maintenance routine and monthly reporting.

What happens if our checkout stops taking mobile money?

Treat it as urgent and tell us straight away. We check the gateway status, API keys, webhooks and recent updates, and roll back a faulty update from backup if needed. Most payment failures we see come from expired keys, changed URLs or untested plugin updates, which is why we test checkout after every payment-related change.

What hours is support available?

We work Nigerian office hours, which in Ghana means from one hour earlier on the clock, so our working days overlap almost entirely. Response times for urgent and routine requests are set out in the written agreement before you sign.

Does maintenance include content changes?

Small content help can be included, and the agreement says how much. Larger changes, such as new pages, features or redesigns, are quoted separately so maintenance time stays focused on keeping the site healthy. You always see a quote before extra work begins, so there are no surprise bills.

How is maintenance billed?

Managed services start from $2,000 per year, quoted in US dollars. The written agreement lists what is covered, response times and how extra work is priced. If your finance team prefers to pay from a cedi account, we agree the payment route during scoping.
