Website design, Ghana

Website design for organisations in Ghana

We design WordPress websites that make sense to Ghanaian visitors on the phones they actually use. Every design starts with what people come to do on your site, not with a template.

Overview

Website Design for organisations in Ghana.

A good design brief for Ghana covers more than colours and a logo. It asks how a parent in Kumasi will find admission dates, how a customer will pay by MoMo without leaving the page confused, and how your team will update the site without calling a developer.

Our strategy and design work starts from $1,500 per project and covers discovery, page structure, visual design and a build-ready prototype. We scope it in writing so you know what you are getting before a single screen is drawn.

In detail

Website Design in Ghana, in detail.

01

Discovery comes first

Before we design anything, we run a discovery session with your team to agree who the site is for, what they need to do, and what success looks like. For a school that might be admissions and fee information; for a logistics firm, quote requests and tracking; for a non-profit, donations and reports. We turn those answers into a sitemap and page outlines you can approve, so design time is spent on the pages that matter rather than on decoration.

02

Designed for phones first

Most Ghanaian visitors will meet your site on a phone, often on mobile data. We design the small screen first: short paths to key actions, readable type, tap targets that work with a thumb, and images sized so pages load quickly. Larger screens then get a layout that uses the extra room well. We test designs on real devices rather than only resizing a desktop browser, because that is where most layout problems hide.

03

Payment and enquiry journeys that feel local

If your site takes payments, the design has to account for how Ghanaians pay. With Paystack or Flutterwave, a customer choosing MTN MoMo, Telecel Cash or AirtelTigo Money approves the payment on their phone with an OTP and PIN. We design a clear waiting state, plain instructions and a confident confirmation screen, so nobody pays twice or abandons the order. Enquiry forms get the same care, with WhatsApp and phone options where your team prefers them.

04

Privacy built into the design

Ghana's Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843) applies to the personal data your forms collect, and the Data Protection Commission expects controllers to be registered. Good design helps compliance: we ask only for the fields you genuinely need, place consent wording where people will read it, and link a privacy notice from every form. That keeps your site cleaner for users and makes your obligations easier to describe to the Commission.

05

A design your team can run

We build the approved design in WordPress using reusable blocks and patterns, so your staff can add news, events or products without breaking the layout. Each pattern is named in plain language and documented in a short handover guide. If you later need a redesign of one section, the system makes that a contained job rather than a rebuild, and your content carries over untouched.

Our work

Platforms we have built.

These projects, built by our team outside Ghana, show the kind of design work that fits Ghanaian schools and service businesses: a virtual learning environment and an online school with multi-currency payments.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Can you design a school website in Ghana?

Yes. Schools are a common request and we have built a virtual learning environment for Alvina Schools in Nigeria. A school site usually needs admissions information, a news section, staff and parent logins and sometimes fee payment by mobile money. We scope each of these clearly so you can launch the essentials first and add features later.

Do you design in cedis or show prices in cedis on our site?

Your site can show prices in GHS and take payment in cedis through a gateway such as Paystack or Flutterwave. Our own fees for the design work are quoted in US dollars, starting from $1,500 per project, and agreed in a written scope before work begins.

How do design reviews work if you are not in Accra?

We run reviews on video calls, sharing a clickable prototype that your team can also open on their own phones. Ghana is one hour behind Lagos, so we schedule sessions inside your office hours. Feedback is collected in one shared document so nothing is lost between rounds.

Can we use our existing logo and brand?

Yes. We work with your existing brand and extend it for the web: colour contrast for readability, type sizes for small screens, and button and form styles. If your brand needs refreshing, we can recommend that as a separate piece of work, but it is not required to start.

Will the design work for visitors on slow mobile data?

We design with mobile data in mind: compressed images, restrained use of video and animation, and pages that show useful content quickly. We test on real phones and keep the most important actions near the top of the page, so visitors can get what they came for even on a weak connection.
