E-learning and LMS for Ghana

E-learning platforms for Ghanaian schools, trainers and institutions

We build WordPress learning platforms where Ghanaian students enrol, pay with mobile money or card, study on their phones, take quizzes and earn certificates. You own the platform and every learner relationship on it.

Overview

E-learning Platforms for organisations in Ghana.

Demand for online learning in Ghana covers a wide range: senior high school students revising for exams, professionals taking short certificate courses, churches and NGOs training volunteers, and companies onboarding staff across regions. Each needs something slightly different, but all need a platform learners can reach on a phone and pay for without friction.

Our team built the Alvina Schools virtual learning environment and the BFI School platform, which takes payment in four currencies and issues certificates. We apply that experience to platforms for Ghanaian organisations, working remotely from Nigeria.

In detail

E-learning Platforms in Ghana, in detail.

01

Courses structured around how people learn

We set up a learning management system in WordPress with courses made of lessons, video, notes and quizzes. Content can be released on a schedule, locked until earlier lessons are complete or opened all at once for self-paced study. For SHS revision, that might mean subjects and topics with practice questions. For professional training, it might mean modules, assessments and a final certificate. We plan the structure with you before building it.

02

Mobile money at enrolment

In Ghana, a course that only accepts cards loses learners at the checkout. We connect Paystack or Flutterwave so learners pay in cedis with MTN MoMo, Telecel Cash, AirtelTigo Money or a card, and access opens automatically once they approve the payment on their phone. Because Paystack's mobile money channel does not support recurring charges, monthly access is designed as renewals the learner approves each time, or as card subscriptions.

03

Light enough for mobile data

Learners who pay for their own data will not stream heavy video for long. We host video on a dedicated service rather than your web server, offer downloadable notes where sensible, keep quiz pages simple and test every lesson layout on a mid-range Android phone. A learner who can study on a trotro without running out of data is far more likely to finish the course.

04

Certificates, progress and reporting

Completion certificates with a verification link give your courses weight with employers and institutions. Learners see their progress and what comes next; instructors see who is falling behind; administrators get reports on enrolments, completions and payments. BFI School, which our team built, issues certificates and tracks affiliates who refer new learners, so these are features we have delivered rather than ones we would be trying for the first time.

05

Learner data under Act 843

A learning platform stores names, phone numbers, progress and sometimes details of minors. Ghana's Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843) requires your organisation to register with the Data Protection Commission as a data controller. We collect only what teaching needs, keep marketing consent separate from enrolment, restrict instructors to their own learners and document the platform's data so your registration is accurate.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Can you build an e-learning platform for SHS students in Ghana?

Yes. We can organise content by subject and topic, add practice quizzes, track progress and make the whole platform work comfortably on a phone. If students pay, parents or students can use MTN MoMo, Telecel Cash, AirtelTigo Money or a card. We plan the structure with your teachers during discovery.

Can learners subscribe monthly with mobile money?

Not as an automatic subscription through Paystack, because its mobile money channel does not support recurring payments. We design around that, usually with access periods the learner renews by approving a new payment, plus card subscriptions for those who prefer them.

Why not use a hosted course platform instead?

Hosted platforms are quick to launch but often charge per learner or per sale and may not support Ghanaian mobile money. A WordPress platform is yours, takes payments through gateways that operate in Ghana and can grow with custom features. We compare both honestly during discovery.

Can we sell courses to learners outside Ghana?

Yes. International learners can pay by card, and we can show prices in more than one currency. BFI School, which we built, accepts NGN, USD, GBP and EUR, so selling across borders is something we have already delivered. Prices in each currency are agreed with you during scoping.

How much does an e-learning platform cost?

Learning platforms are development projects starting from $5,000. The price depends on course setup, payment rules, certificates, integrations and any custom features. Hosting, updates and support afterwards are covered by Managed Services from $2,000 per year, all agreed in writing.
