Web development, Ghana

WordPress web development for Ghanaian organisations

When a Ghanaian organisation needs its website to do real work, we build the custom WordPress features behind it. Portals, learning platforms, ticketing and integrations are our everyday projects.

Overview

Web Development for organisations in Ghana.

Off-the-shelf themes and plugins only go so far. Once your site needs staff logins, application workflows, payment reconciliation or a dashboard for managers, you need developers who write clean custom code and know where WordPress ends and a separate system should begin.

Our development work starts from $5,000 per project. We price it from a written scope, build in stages you can test, and hand over code your organisation owns.

In detail

Web Development in Ghana, in detail.

01

Custom plugins and themes

We write custom WordPress themes and plugins when your requirements are specific to how your organisation works. That might be an application form that routes to the right department, a member directory with approval steps, or a reporting screen for managers. Custom code is kept in version control, follows WordPress coding standards, and comes with notes your next developer can read. We also maintain our own plugins, including emailfooter and the Bizy operations suite, so we know what long-term plugin care involves.

02

Payment integrations that settle in cedis

For Ghanaian clients, the integration that matters most is usually payments. Paystack and Flutterwave both collect GHS from MTN, Telecel and AirtelTigo mobile money wallets as well as cards, and we connect them to WooCommerce, membership plugins or custom forms. We handle the webhook that confirms a payment after the customer approves it on their phone, so records update even if the customer closes the browser. One limitation we plan around: Paystack's mobile money channel does not support recurring charges, so subscriptions need a different design.

03

Portals, dashboards and learning platforms

Many of the systems we build are private areas behind a login. Our team has delivered a recruitment portal and HR dashboard for ASEP Logistics, a virtual learning environment for Alvina Schools, and an online school for BFI Insights with payments in several currencies, certificates and affiliates. The same patterns suit Ghanaian training providers, schools, associations and companies managing applicants or members.

04

Handling personal data properly

Portals and platforms hold a lot of personal data, and Ghana's Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843) requires data controllers and processors to register with the Data Protection Commission. We build with access roles, sensible data retention, secure file storage and audit logging where the project needs it. We also give you a plain description of what is stored and who can see it, which supports your registration.

05

How we run a build remotely

Development happens in stages with a staging site you can test at any time. With Accra one hour behind Lagos, our stand-ups and demos land inside your working day. We agree acceptance criteria for each stage in writing, so sign-off is a clear decision rather than a feeling. Before launch we run load and payment tests, then support the site closely through its first weeks live.

Platforms we have built.

Built by our team for clients outside Ghana, these projects are the closest match to the custom systems Ghanaian organisations ask for: a recruitment portal, a multi-currency online school and a ticketing platform with QR check-in.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Why choose a WordPress specialist over a general developer?

WordPress powers a large part of the web, but building on it well takes specific knowledge: how to extend it without fighting core updates, which plugins are safe to rely on, and when a feature belongs outside WordPress entirely. Specialising means we spend our time on those decisions rather than relearning them for each project.

Can you integrate MTN MoMo directly?

We integrate mobile money through gateways that operate in Ghana, such as Paystack and Flutterwave. They give your site one connection that accepts MTN MoMo, Telecel Cash and AirtelTigo Money as well as cards, with settlement to your Ghanaian account. Your organisation holds the merchant account and we handle the technical connection and testing.

Who owns the code you write?

You do. Once the project is paid for, the custom code we write for your site belongs to your organisation, and we hand over the repository and documentation. Third-party plugins remain under their own licences, which we list for you at handover.

Can you take over a site another developer built?

Yes. We start with a paid technical audit to understand the code, plugins and hosting. You get a written report of what is sound, what is risky and what we recommend. From there we can quote for fixes, new features or ongoing maintenance.

How are development projects paid?

Development starts from $5,000 per project, quoted in US dollars and agreed in a written scope. Payments are usually staged against milestones. If paying from a cedi account is easier for your organisation, raise it during scoping so we can agree the arrangement in writing.

Do you build mobile apps as well?

Our focus is WordPress. Many organisations find that a fast, mobile-first web platform with logins covers what they hoped an app would do. Where an app is genuinely needed, we can build the WordPress back end and integrations it relies on.
