Overview

Website Design for organisations in Zimbabwe.

Good website design in Zimbabwe begins with a phone, not a desktop monitor. Most of your visitors arrive on mobile data, many are comparing you with a competitor in another tab, and they need prices, contacts and next steps without waiting for a heavy page.

Our design process is short and written down. We run discovery, agree a sitemap and content plan, design key pages, then build them in WordPress so your team can edit everything afterwards.

In detail

Website Design in Zimbabwe, in detail.

01

Phone-first layouts for a mobile-data audience

Mobile internet accounts for the overwhelming share of internet subscriptions in Zimbabwe, according to POTRAZ's 2025 reporting. We therefore design the phone view first: a clear headline, a visible call or WhatsApp button, short forms and images sized for small screens. Desktop layouts are then expanded from that base, adding detail where larger screens allow it. It is a simple discipline that keeps pages light, which matters when every megabyte costs your visitor money.

02

Showing prices when two currencies circulate

Many Zimbabwean businesses quote in US dollars while also receiving ZiG. Design has to make that unambiguous. We agree how prices appear, whether as USD only, ZiG only or both with a stated basis, and design price tables, product cards and fee notices around that rule. Clear labelling saves your staff from answering the same question by phone every day.

03

School websites in Zimbabwe

Schools ask us for more than a prospectus online. Parents want term calendars, fee information, uniform lists and contact details; staff want an easy way to post notices; admissions teams want forms that arrive in one inbox. We design a structure for each audience and keep the editing simple. Our work for Alvina Schools in Nigeria, a full virtual learning environment, informs how we organise school content.

04

Forms designed with the data law in mind

Under the Cyber and Data Protection Act and the 2024 licensing regulations, organisations that decide how personal data is used need a POTRAZ data controller licence. Design is where data collection starts, so we keep forms to the fields you genuinely need, add consent and privacy wording beside them, and note where each submission is stored. You then have a clear answer when POTRAZ or a parent asks what you collect and why.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

How much does website design cost in Zimbabwe with you?

Our Strategy and Design projects start from $1,500. The final figure depends on the number of page templates, content work, forms and any integrations such as Paynow. We put the full scope and a fixed US dollar price in writing before starting, so there are no surprises later. Our cost guide for Zimbabwe explains the drivers in more detail.

Can you design a website for our school?

Yes. We plan school sites around parents, pupils, staff and prospective families, with fee notices, calendars, admissions forms and news that your team can update. ZISPA expects a school's .co.zw domain to be registered in the school's own name, and we help you prepare that. For online classes, we can extend the site into a learning platform.

Will the design work well on cheap phones?

That is our starting point. We design for small screens first, keep page weight low and test on throttled connections that resemble a mobile data session. Fonts, images and scripts are chosen with load time in mind, so the site remains usable on entry-level Android devices.

Do you meet in person in Harare?

No, we work remotely from Nigeria. Harare is one hour ahead of Lagos, so our working days line up closely and we hold reviews over video calls at times that suit you. Every decision and approval is recorded in writing in a shared channel.

Can we update the site ourselves after launch?

Yes. We build designs as editable WordPress blocks and patterns rather than fixed images, then train your team to change text, add news, swap photos and publish notices. We also provide a short written guide for the tasks you do most often.
