Overview

Web Hosting for organisations in Zimbabwe.

Searches for web hosting in Zimbabwe usually compare cheap shared plans. For a business site, the plan price is only part of the story: what matters is how fast the site loads on mobile data, who applies updates, and where your customers' data is kept.

We are not a hosting company. We manage WordPress hosting on our partners' infrastructure and take responsibility for keeping your site running well on it.

In detail

Web Hosting in Zimbabwe, in detail.

01

Speed for visitors on mobile data

Because most Zimbabweans go online through mobile internet, server speed and page weight both count. We choose a data centre region from our partners that suits your audience, enable server and page caching, serve images in modern formats and test load times before and after migration. A caching layer also reduces the bandwidth each visit consumes, which your visitors notice on their bundles.

02

Domain hosting and .co.zw

Many people search for domain hosting in Zimbabwe because domains and hosting are bought together locally. The .co.zw registry is run by ZISPA, which does not host DNS and expects your registrar to collect a certificate of incorporation or national ID. We keep your registration with the registrar you choose, point its nameservers or records to your hosting, and configure email records so your messages are delivered.

03

Where your data is stored

When you apply for a POTRAZ data controller licence under SI 155 of 2024, the application asks whether data is stored in Zimbabwe or in another country. Partner data centres are outside Zimbabwe, so we document the hosting region, backup location and any third-party services your site uses. That gives you accurate answers for the licence form and your privacy notice.

04

Paying for hosting from Zimbabwe

From January 2026, banks and mobile money operators withhold tax on payments by Zimbabwean consumers to foreign digital services such as cloud subscriptions. Paying overseas hosting providers directly can therefore be awkward. When we manage hosting under our plan, you pay one US dollar invoice to us for the service, and we explain what it covers so your accountant can treat it correctly.

We host and manage platforms with heavy, time-sensitive traffic, such as Technext Events ticketing and the TAWASV podcast platform, and apply the same care to Zimbabwean sites.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Is your hosting located in Zimbabwe?

No. We use our partners Cloudways and Hostinger, whose data centres are outside Zimbabwe. We pick a suitable region for your audience, add caching and optimise pages so they load quickly on local connections, and we document the storage location for your POTRAZ licence application.

Can you register our .co.zw domain?

Registration goes through a ZISPA-accredited registrar, and ZISPA asks for your certificate of incorporation or national ID and expects your organisation to be listed as the owner. We help you prepare the request and then handle the technical side: nameservers, DNS records and email settings.

How do your hosting prices compare with cheap local plans?

Our Managed Services start from $2,000 per year and include hosting management, updates, backups, security and support, not only server space. A budget shared plan can be cheaper for a simple site, but you then handle maintenance yourself. We will tell you honestly if a basic plan suits you better.

Can you move our site from a Zimbabwean host?

Yes. Migrations start from $1,000. We copy the site to the new server, test it thoroughly, lower DNS cache times beforehand and switch over at a quiet time in your day, so visitors and email are not disrupted. Your old host stays in place until you confirm everything works.

What about email on our domain?

We set up domain email with a provider you choose and configure the SPF, DKIM and DMARC records so messages from your domain reach inboxes rather than spam folders. This is part of our domain and email service, and it matters most when your site sends order confirmations or school notices.
