Business email, Zimbabwe

A company email address in Zimbabwe that people trust and receive

Sending business from a personal Gmail address undersells your organisation, and an unprotected domain invites impersonation. We set up company email on your .co.zw domain with Google Workspace, Microsoft 365 or Zoho, and configure it so messages reach the inbox.

Overview

Business Email for organisations in Zimbabwe.

A company email address does three jobs. It tells customers and suppliers they are dealing with a registered organisation, it keeps mail with the business when staff change, and, set up properly, it makes it much harder for fraudsters to send invoices that appear to come from you. That last point matters to any business that bills clients by email.

Email and domain setup is part of our Managed Services, from $2,000 per year, and is often included in website projects. You subscribe to the email provider directly, so you own the accounts and the data.

In detail

Business Email in Zimbabwe, in detail.

01

Starting with the .co.zw domain

Because ZISPA vets .co.zw names, asking for a certificate of incorporation or national ID and expecting the real owner to be listed, it is worth getting the registration right before setting up email. We check who holds your domain, help you correct the registrant details if needed and document where the DNS records are managed, since email depends on them.

02

Google Workspace, Microsoft 365 or Zoho

All three provide mailboxes on your domain along with calendars and file storage. Teams already using Word and Excel often prefer Microsoft 365, browser-based teams lean towards Google Workspace, and Zoho Mail can be a lighter choice. Mixing providers within one organisation is possible but rarely worth the confusion. We earn no commission from any of them, so our recommendation is based on how your people work.

03

Authentication with SPF, DKIM and DMARC

SPF lists the servers allowed to send for your domain, DKIM signs each message so it can be verified, and DMARC tells receiving servers what to do when a message fails. Together they protect your name and improve delivery. We publish all three, include every legitimate sender such as your website or invoicing software, and tighten DMARC step by step after reviewing reports.

04

Paying for email from Zimbabwe

Email subscriptions are billed by international providers, usually in US dollars by card. From 1 January 2026, banks and mobile money operators withhold tax on payments by Zimbabwean consumers to foreign digital service providers, so check with your finance team how that affects your subscriptions. We help you choose a billing setup that keeps renewals from lapsing, because an unpaid subscription can suspend every mailbox at once.

05

Website emails and your data licence

Your WordPress site also sends email: Paynow order confirmations, contact form alerts, password resets. We route these through an authenticated sender so they are not filtered as spam, and log them so you can confirm delivery. Mailboxes and logs hold personal data, so we note the provider and storage location for your POTRAZ data controller licence, along with how long logs are kept.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Can we get email on our .co.zw domain without a new website?

Yes. Email and website are separate services that share a domain. We can set up mailboxes and authentication records on your existing .co.zw domain whether or not we build your site, as long as you can give us access to the DNS settings.

Why are our emails landing in spam?

Common causes are missing or incorrect SPF and DKIM records, no DMARC policy, sending from a shared hosting server with a poor reputation, or a domain that someone else has been spoofing. We check each cause, correct the records and test delivery to the major mailbox providers.

Can we keep our old addresses?

Yes. Your addresses stay the same because they belong to your domain; only the provider behind them changes. We plan the switch so new mail goes to the new mailboxes from a set moment, and copy older messages across where the old host allows exports.

How do we stop invoice fraud using our name?

Publishing a strict DMARC policy makes it much harder for anyone to send email that appears to come from your domain. Combined with two-step sign-in on every mailbox, it closes the common routes fraudsters use. We also suggest staff confirm any change of bank details by phone.

Is email covered by the Cyber and Data Protection Act?

Email contains personal data, so it falls within what your organisation processes. Your POTRAZ licence application states where data is stored, which includes your email provider. We give you the provider details; for legal interpretation, speak to POTRAZ or an adviser.

What does business email cost?

The email subscription is paid directly to Google, Microsoft or Zoho at their published rates. Our setup and ongoing management sit within Managed Services from $2,000 per year, often alongside hosting and maintenance. Everything is scoped in writing before work starts.
