Web development for Tanzanian organisations that need more than pages

When a website has to take payments, run a workflow or connect to another system, it becomes a development project. We build those on WordPress for Tanzanian clients, starting from $5,000 per project.

Overview

Web Development for organisations in Tanzania.

Among the web development companies in Tanzania you will find many that build brochure sites well. Fewer are set up for custom plugins, payment integrations and multi-role portals that need to run reliably for years. That is the part of the work we specialise in.

We write custom WordPress themes and plugins, connect your site to the services your operation already uses, and document everything so another developer could pick it up. You own the code outright.

In detail

Web Development in Tanzania, in detail.

01

Integrations Tanzanian sites usually need

The most common request is mobile money. Because Stripe and Paystack do not serve Tanzania, we integrate local options: Pesapal's official WooCommerce plugin, AzamPay's gateway for phone prompts across several wallets, Selcom for cards and QR, or Flutterwave's TZS mobile money charge through its API. Beyond payments we connect SMS providers, accounting tools, CRMs and spreadsheets, using webhooks so records update without anyone retyping them.

02

Custom systems on WordPress

Many organisations run an important process on paper or email: applications, approvals, bookings, member renewals. We turn that into a structured system with forms, roles, status changes and notifications, all inside a WordPress admin your team already understands. It is the same approach we used for a recruitment portal with an HR dashboard and for a government-backed boot camp registration platform in Nigeria.

03

Building for the 2022 Act

A custom system usually stores more personal data than a brochure site, so we design it to match the Personal Data Protection Act, 2022. That means role-based access so staff only see what they need, retention settings for old records, export and deletion tools for individual requests, and an audit trail. We also document what is stored and where, which helps when you register with the Personal Data Protection Commission.

04

How we run a development project

We start with a written specification and agree it before coding begins. Work happens on a staging copy you can log in to, with weekly progress during overlapping hours: our Lagos day starts two hours after Dar es Salaam's. Payment flows are tested end to end in each gateway's sandbox before switching to live credentials. Launch comes with documentation and a support window for anything that surfaces in real use.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Can you integrate M-Pesa and Mixx by Yas into our site?

Yes, through an aggregator. Pesapal and AzamPay both offer WooCommerce plugins that prompt the customer's phone, and Flutterwave can collect Tanzanian mobile money in shillings through its API. For non-WooCommerce systems we integrate the aggregator's API directly. We test each wallet in the sandbox before going live.

Why WordPress for a custom system?

It gives you a secure, well-supported base with user accounts, an admin area and a huge pool of developers. We add only the custom parts your process needs, which keeps costs lower than building from scratch and means you are not tied to us for future work.

Will you sign a confidentiality agreement?

Yes. Many development projects involve internal processes or personal data, and we are happy to sign an NDA and a data processing agreement before seeing sensitive material. We also work on staging copies with test data wherever possible. We keep confidential documents in shared folders you control, so access can be withdrawn at the end of the project.

Who owns the code?

You do. Custom themes and plugins we write for you are handed over with the site, along with documentation. You can host it anywhere and hire any developer to extend it later. Nothing in our setup ties the site to our servers or our accounts, so you are free to change supplier whenever you choose.

What happens if something breaks after launch?

Every project includes a support window after launch to fix defects. After that you can move to our Managed Services, from $2,000 per year, which cover updates, monitoring, backups and an agreed amount of developer time. During the support window we also answer questions from your staff as they get used to the new system.
