Website redesign for Kenyan organisations that cannot afford to lose ground

A redesign should lift enquiries and sales, not wipe out the search visibility and links you spent years earning. We audit first, keep what works and rebuild on your existing domain, with Strategy and Design from $1,500 per project.

Overview

Website Redesign for organisations in Kenya.

Kenyan organisations usually ask for a redesign for one of a handful of reasons: the site looks dated, it is painful to update, it breaks on phones, or it cannot take M-Pesa. Each is a good reason. The risk is that a rushed rebuild changes every address on the site, and the traffic Google was sending quietly disappears.

Our approach treats your current site as evidence. We study what it does well before deciding what to change, then rebuild on WordPress at the same domain so your .co.ke address, your email and your reputation carry straight over.

In detail

Website Redesign in Kenya, in detail.

01

Start with an audit, not a mood board

Before any design, we review analytics, Search Console data and the pages that bring enquiries. We list every URL, note which ones rank or earn links, and check how the site performs on a mid-range phone on mobile data. We also read your forms and plugins to see what personal data the site collects today. The audit becomes a short written report with clear recommendations for each page: keep, improve, merge or retire.

02

Keeping your search visibility

Search engines know your pages by their addresses. When a redesign changes those addresses without a plan, rankings fall. We map every old URL to its new home and set permanent 301 redirects, keep titles and headings that already perform, carry over structured data and submit the new sitemap on launch day. In the weeks that follow, we watch for crawl errors and fix any stragglers before they cost you visitors.

03

Same domain, fewer surprises

Rebuilding on your existing .co.ke, .or.ke or .ke domain keeps the trust people already have in it. We build the new site on a staging server, test it thoroughly, then switch over at a quiet time. DNS changes are planned so business email on the domain carries on working throughout. If the redesign also means leaving another platform or host, our Migrations service, from $1,000 per migration, handles that move inside the same project.

04

Fixing the payment and privacy gaps

Older Kenyan sites often send buyers to a page that simply lists a Paybill number, with no link back to the order and no automatic confirmation. A redesign is the moment to add a proper M-Pesa checkout through a gateway or Daraja, so payments confirm themselves. It is also the moment to bring forms in line with the Data Protection Act, 2019: consent wording, a current privacy notice and no fields you never use.

05

An editor your team will actually use

Many redesign requests come from frustration: only one person knows how to update the site, or every change needs the original developer. We rebuild with WordPress blocks and patterns tailored to your content, so staff can publish a vacancy, a tender notice or a new product in minutes. Training is part of the handover, recorded so new staff can watch it later.

Platforms we have built.

Two redesigns show our approach in practice: the corporate site for Verbatim and the rebuilt website for WL Construction, both delivered by our Nigeria team.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Will a redesign hurt our Google rankings?

It can, when addresses change without redirects or useful content is dropped. We prevent that with a URL map, permanent redirects, preserved titles and a post-launch check of Search Console. A short dip while search engines re-crawl is possible, but a planned redesign usually ends with a faster, clearer site that performs better.

Our site is not on WordPress. Can you still redesign it?

Yes. We redesign it and move it to WordPress in one project, combining Strategy and Design with our Migrations service. Content, images and important URLs are carried across, and the old platform stays available until the new site is confirmed working.

How much does a website redesign cost in Kenya?

Our Strategy and Design work starts from $1,500 per project, with development or migration priced on top where the redesign needs it. The audit shows how much of your current site can be kept, which often reduces the cost. You receive a written scope and price before work starts.

Can we keep our current hosting?

Often, yes, provided the host supports a current PHP version, allows staging and backups, and performs well for Kenyan visitors. If it falls short, we recommend managed hosting through Cloudways or Hostinger and explain the reasons, with test results, in the audit.

Do we need to rewrite all our content?

Rarely. The audit shows which pages perform and which need work. We usually keep strong pages, tighten weak ones and merge duplicates. If you want help rewriting, we agree it in the scope; otherwise your team edits drafts within the new structure.

How do we give feedback during a remote redesign?

On staging links and clickable designs, with comments attached to the exact element. We hold review calls when Nairobi and Lagos are both at work, which is most of the day, and confirm every decision in writing so nothing depends on memory.
