Overview

Website Maintenance for organisations in Rwanda.

A website is never finished. WordPress, themes and plugins release updates constantly, payment gateways change their integrations, and attackers look for sites that fell behind. Without a plan, small problems pile up until something breaks on a busy day.

Our maintenance service gives you a named team that watches your site, applies updates safely, and responds when something goes wrong, working a single hour behind Kigali.

In detail

Website Maintenance in Rwanda, in detail.

01

Keeping mobile money checkouts working

For a Rwandan shop or registration site, the payment plugin is the part that cannot fail. Gateways such as IremboPay, Flutterwave and MTN's own MoMo API update their requirements over time, and WooCommerce updates can affect how payment plugins behave. We test updates on a staging copy before they reach your live site, run a test transaction after changes, and watch for failed payment callbacks that leave orders stuck on pending.

02

Being ready for the 48-hour breach rule

Law No. 058/2021 requires a data controller to notify the National Cyber Security Authority within 48 hours of becoming aware of a personal data breach. That window is short if nobody is watching. Our maintenance includes security monitoring, login protection and activity logs, so if something does happen you learn about it quickly and have a clear record of what was affected to support your notification.

03

Backups and where they live

Daily backups only help if they can be restored, so we test restores on a schedule rather than assuming they work. We also plan backup storage with Rwanda's data law in mind, since the law's default is that personal data stays in the country unless the NCSA authorises otherwise. We agree that arrangement with you in writing so your registration and your backup practice match.

04

Support hours that suit Kigali

Our team works on West Africa Time, one hour behind Central Africa Time in Kigali. That means support requests sent during your working day reach us during ours. We agree response times in your service plan and give you one channel for requests, so nothing gets lost across emails and messages. Every request is logged, so you can see what was done, when, and by whom, at any time.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

What does website maintenance cost in Rwanda?

Our Managed Services start from $2,000 per year. The final price depends on the size of the site, whether it handles payments, how often content changes and the response times you need. We set it out in a written plan so you know exactly what is covered.

Can you maintain a site another developer built?

Yes. We begin with an audit of the code, plugins, hosting and security, then tell you what needs fixing before we can maintain it safely. Some sites need a short clean-up first, which we quote separately. The audit report is yours to keep whatever you decide.

What happens if our site is hacked?

We isolate the problem, restore a clean backup where needed, close the hole that allowed it and review the logs. If personal data may have been exposed, we help you gather the facts you need, because Law No. 058/2021 gives data controllers 48 hours to notify the NCSA.

When can we reach you?

During normal working hours, which overlap almost entirely because we are only one hour behind Kigali. Urgent issues such as a site outage or a broken checkout are handled under the response times agreed in your plan. Requests sent outside those hours are picked up first thing the next working day.

Do you also update content for us?

Plans include an allowance for small edits such as text changes, new images or a new staff profile. Larger work, like new page templates or features, is quoted separately so your maintenance budget stays predictable. Unused allowance is shown in your monthly report.
