WordPress website maintenance for Canadian organisations

We keep Canadian WordPress sites updated, backed up, secure and quick. Because we work while Canada sleeps, most updates happen outside your business hours.

Overview

Website Maintenance for organisations in Canada.

A WordPress site that nobody maintains does not stay still. Plugins fall behind, payment integrations change their requirements, and small accessibility fixes made at launch quietly come undone as content is added. The site keeps working until, one day, it does not.

Our maintenance service is built to stop that drift. We look after the software, the security and the details Canadian sites depend on, and we tell you in writing what we did each month.

In detail

Website Maintenance in Canada, in detail.

01

Updates while Canada is offline

Lagos is five to six hours ahead of Toronto, so our morning falls in the small hours across Canada. That is when we apply core, theme and plugin updates, after testing them on a staging copy. If something misbehaves, we roll it back before your first visitor arrives. You get a short written log of every change rather than a surprise on Monday morning.

02

Payment plugins and checkout health

Gateways such as Moneris, Stripe and PayPal update their plugins and APIs regularly, and an outdated integration is a common cause of failed orders. We keep payment plugins current, run test transactions after significant updates, and watch for errors in order processing. When Canadian payment options change, as they did when Interac Online was retired, we advise on what to offer instead.

03

Security and breach readiness

We run firewalls, malware scanning, login protection and daily off-site backups, with restores tested rather than assumed. Under PIPEDA, a breach of personal information that poses a real risk of significant harm must be reported to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner, and every breach must be recorded for 24 months. Our monitoring and logs give you the facts you would need to make that assessment quickly.

04

Keeping accessibility and consent intact

Updates and new content can undo good work. We check key templates against WCAG 2.1 AA after significant changes, flag inaccessible uploads such as untagged PDFs, and confirm cookie consent still blocks tracking until visitors agree, which Quebec's Law 25 expects. Ontario organisations with AODA duties benefit from those checks being part of routine care rather than an annual scramble.

05

Plans and pricing

Managed Services start from $2,000 per year in US dollars, scoped in writing to cover the updates, monitoring, backups and support hours you need. On request, we also state an indicative amount in Canadian dollars. We already maintain the platforms we built for Technext and BFI Insights, and we take on sites built by others after an initial audit. Support requests are logged and answered in writing.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Can you maintain a site another agency built?

Yes. We start with an audit of the code, plugins, hosting and backups, fix anything urgent, and then move the site onto a regular maintenance routine. If we find risky custom code, we explain the options and costs before touching it.

When do updates happen?

Mostly during our working morning, which is overnight across Canada. We test updates on a staging copy first and apply them to the live site when traffic is lowest. Urgent security patches are applied as soon as they are tested.

What happens if our site is hacked?

We restore a clean backup, close the hole, and give you a written account of what happened and what data may have been exposed. That record helps you decide whether a report to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner and notices to affected people are needed under PIPEDA.

Do you check accessibility as part of maintenance?

Yes, we spot-check key templates after significant updates and flag accessibility issues in new content. This supports, but does not replace, any formal accessibility review your organisation commissions under the AODA or procurement rules. Findings are listed in your monthly report.

How much does website maintenance cost?

Managed Services start from $2,000 per year in US dollars. The final price depends on the size of the site, the support hours you need and whether hosting is included. We confirm it in a written scope. A Canadian dollar reference figure is available on request.
