Web applications

Web applications and custom systems for Zambian organisations

We turn spreadsheet-and-email processes into web applications your staff, members or customers use in a browser. Portals, approval workflows and dashboards are built on WordPress with custom code.

Overview

Web Application Development for organisations in Zambia.

Across Zambia, organisations run important work on tools never designed for it: applications collected by email, approvals chased by phone, reports rebuilt from spreadsheets every month. A web application brings that work into one system with clear roles and a record of every step.

Custom software development does not always mean starting from a blank page. WordPress already handles accounts, permissions, security updates and an admin interface. We build your specific workflow on that base, so the system is tailored without being fragile.

In detail

Web Application Development in Zambia, in detail.

01

Examples of what we build

Our web applications include recruitment portals where candidates apply and managers shortlist, registration systems for programmes and events, member and client portals with document exchange, approval workflows for requests and purchases, and dashboards that turn records into reports. For ASEP Logistics we built a recruitment portal with an HR dashboard; for Technext Events, a ticketing system that sold and scanned more than 10,000 tickets. Both began as a written map of who does what.

02

Enterprise needs: roles, audit trails and scale

Larger organisations and programmes need more than a working form. We design detailed roles, so a regional officer sees only their region and a finance user sees only payments. Every important action is logged with who did it and when. Data is structured so reports stay fast as records grow, and the system can be load-tested before a launch or intake. These details are what make an application trustworthy enough for daily operations.

03

Collecting payments inside the application

Where your application takes money, such as membership renewals, application fees or service charges, we connect it to Flutterwave so users can pay in kwacha by MTN, Airtel or Zamtel mobile money, with cards through a gateway such as DPO Pay. Each payment is tied to the right record and confirmed by the provider before status changes, so staff never approve an application on the strength of a screenshot.

04

Personal data and where it lives

Applications usually hold more personal data than websites: national registration numbers, CVs, addresses, sometimes health or financial details. Under the Data Protection Act 2021 your organisation registers with the Data Protection Commissioner, and section 70 favours storing personal data in Zambia. We minimise fields, protect sensitive records, document every storage location and integration, and discuss hosting openly so you can take advice before go-live.

05

Staged delivery and fair pricing

We deliver in stages, starting with the workflow that saves you the most time. Each stage is demonstrated on a staging site during the shared working day, as Lusaka is only one hour ahead of Lagos, then released once you approve. Web applications are development work, starting from $5,000, with each stage scoped and priced in writing in USD. Where WordPress is the wrong foundation, we will tell you.

These systems, all built by our Nigeria team, show the web applications we deliver: a recruitment portal with HR dashboard, a national boot camp registration platform and high-volume ticketing.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Why build a web application on WordPress?

WordPress already provides secure accounts, roles, an admin area and regular security updates, so our effort goes into your workflow rather than rebuilding basics. Many developers know it, which reduces lock-in. For a small number of very high-volume or real-time systems another stack fits better, and we will say so.

Can the system send SMS or email notifications?

Yes. We connect applications to email services and, where you hold an account with a provider that offers an API, to SMS gateways. Notifications are worded so they do not expose personal data unnecessarily, and every message sent is logged against the record it relates to.

Can it integrate with our existing software?

Usually, if the other system offers an API or reliable import and export. We check during discovery and build the connection on staging with sample data. If integration is not practical, we suggest a dependable alternative such as scheduled exports.

How do you handle the Data Protection Act?

We collect only the fields you need, restrict access by role, log activity, and document where every database, file and backup is stored. Registration with the Data Protection Commissioner and legal interpretation stay with your organisation and its adviser; we give them the technical facts.

What does a custom web application cost?

Web applications start from $5,000 per project. The final price depends on roles, workflows, integrations and reporting. We often split larger systems into stages so you can start with the most valuable part. Quotes are in USD, with a kwacha equivalent if useful.
