A web development company for Ethiopian WordPress projects

When a site needs more than pages, such as payments, member accounts or a link to another system, the development work decides whether it lasts. We write custom WordPress themes, plugins and integrations that are documented and maintainable.

Overview

Web Development for organisations in Ethiopia.

Many Ethiopian projects reach a point where an off-the-shelf theme stops coping: a fees portal that needs to talk to a gateway, a registration form with hundreds of submissions a day, or reporting that managers actually use. That is where structured development pays for itself.

We build on WordPress because it is open source, widely supported and keeps you free to change provider. Our development work starts from $5,000 per project and is always scoped feature by feature in writing.

In detail

Web Development in Ethiopia, in detail.

01

Integrating Ethiopian payment gateways properly

There is no Stripe in Ethiopia, so payment work usually means integrating Chapa, SantimPay or telebirr's merchant interface directly. These gateways rely on server-side order creation, signed requests and webhook confirmations. A careless integration marks orders as paid before the money arrives, or misses callbacks entirely. We build integrations that verify every transaction against the gateway, log failures for your team and handle each method's limits. In January 2026 a community Chapa plugin was pulled from WordPress.org for a security issue, a reminder that payment code should be reviewed, not installed on trust.

02

Custom themes and plugins we can stand behind

We write themes around your design system and plugins for features specific to your organisation, following WordPress coding standards. That keeps the site faster and easier to update than one held together by dozens of loosely related plugins. Our own products, including the emailfooter signature tool and the Bizy operations suite, come from the same habits: clean code, version control and documentation another developer could pick up.

03

Building with the data proclamation in mind

Proclamation No. 1321/2024 requires controllers to register with the Ethiopian Communications Authority, report breaches within 72 hours and store personal data on servers in Ethiopia under Article 22. Development choices affect all three. We minimise the personal data your forms collect, restrict who can see it in the dashboard, record consent, and avoid sending data to third-party services without a reason you have approved. Where storage location matters, we design the system so that data sits where your legal adviser says it should.

04

Connecting to the systems you already use

WordPress rarely works alone. We connect sites to CRMs, school management tools, accounting packages, email platforms and SMS services through their APIs, and build custom workflows when no ready integration exists. For example, an application form can create a record in your HR system, notify the right manager and send the applicant a confirmation. Integrations are tested on a staging copy before they touch live data.

05

Remote delivery that stays transparent

Our developers work from Nigeria, two hours behind Addis Ababa. You see progress on a staging site from early on, we share a project board, and every milestone ends with a demonstration rather than a vague status update. Code lives in a repository you have access to, so the work is yours throughout. Questions are answered in writing the same working day, and decisions are recorded on the board so nothing depends on memory.

Our Nigeria team built these systems, each with custom workflows, dashboards or payments that go well beyond a standard theme.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Do you build in WordPress only?

WordPress is our specialism, including WooCommerce and learning or membership platforms built on it. We integrate with other systems through their APIs, but we do not build sites on other content management systems. Focusing on one platform is how we keep our depth and the quality of the code.

Can you integrate telebirr directly?

Ethio Telecom offers merchant integration through its telebirr developer portal, which requires a merchant agreement and credentials issued to your business. Alternatively, gateways such as Chapa and SantimPay include telebirr among other methods. We help you weigh one direct method against an aggregator that covers wallets, cards and bank channels together.

Who owns the code you write?

You do, once the relevant invoices are paid, as set out in our written agreement. The code sits in a repository you can access, and your hosting and domain accounts are in your organisation's name. If you later change agency, the next team can pick up where we left off.

How do you test before launch?

Every feature is tested on a staging copy of the site. For payments, we run each method in the gateway's test mode, including failures, cancellations and refunds. We test on real mobile devices and slower connections, then run a launch checklist covering forms, emails, redirects, backups and security settings.

What happens after the site goes live?

We include a short post-launch period to fix any issues that appear with real use. For ongoing work, our Managed Services start from $2,000 per year and cover updates, security monitoring, backups and performance. Larger new features are scoped separately so the budget stays predictable.
